Woodinville Montessori School will host an open house from 9-11 a.m. Jan. 22 at its North Creek Campus, 19102 North Creek Parkway, Suite 100, Bothell. Children are welcome.
Woodinville Montessori School is a nonprofit independent school in its 28th year and serves 255 students — toddlers through ninth grade.
Last month, the school’s sixth-grade students delivered 22 full crates of food weighing more than 800 pounds (with an estimated value of more than $1,200), 155 toys/gifts and $95 in gift cards to Hopelink’s Northshore/Kirkland location. The students collected everything during a two-week period, beginning Nov. 18: National Philanthropy Day.
The students sorted the food and gifts that were donated, as well as tackled several more pallets of food brought in by other donors (probably another 800 pounds). One group checked expiration dates, a second group sorted the food into crates on the sorting shelves and a third group took the full crates from the sorting area and put them onto the main warehouse shelves.
