Brendan Moeller does some painting at Lockwood Elementary last Saturday during the second annual Community Serve Day, organized by Bothell’s Northshore Baptist Church and Redmond’s Overlake Christian Church.

In all, 19 churches and community groups worked together to:

• Assist families who needed help repairing their homes

• Help teachers set up their classrooms for the fall

• Improve under-resourced schools with painting and landscaping

On the Northshore, events took place at Moorlands Elementary in Kenmore and Lockwood Elementary in Bothell.

Nonprofit help agencies Hopelink and Vision House benefitted from Saturday’s help.
