Sperry, Black with early lead in primary for Kenmore council position 2

Incumbent Kenmore City Council member Laurie Sperry has a commanding 56 percent of the vote during early primary returns, according to King County Elections on Tuesday night.

Incumbent Kenmore City Council member Laurie Sperry has a commanding 56 percent of the vote during early primary returns, according to King County Elections on Tuesday night.

The three-way race pit Sperry against two challengers, with the top two candidates moving on to the general election in November. Sperry was first elected to the council in 2005.

Bob Black has 23 percent of the vote, while Mark Prince has just 19 percent in early vote totals.

The election will be certified on Aug. 20. The Reporter will update election results as they are released.
