The Inglemoor High School boys basketball team had four players in double figures Tuesday and a fifth player with nine points, as the squad defeated Newport, 73-61, at home.
Newport began the game with the hot hand, leading 16-12 after the first eight minutes of play. But the Vikings took a one-point lead into halftime, 30-29.
Inglemoor would only add to that lead, as the game went on. The fourth quarter looked more like a tennis match, as each team sprinted up and down the floor and combined for 50 fourth-quarter points.
Trey Drechsel led the Vikings with 22 points, while teammates Will Luckett (17), John Gardner (13) and Chandler Edin (10) finished in double figures as well. Andy Nelson contributed nine points for Inglemoor.
