“I Recycle” is the theme of the 2010 America Recycles Day (ARD), which will take place Nov. 15 at St. Vincent de Paul’s store in Kenmore (7304 N.E. Bothell Way), as well as its Seattle, Burien, Kent and Renton locations.
Millions of Americans have pledged to increase their recycling habits at home and at work over the 13-year history of ARD, a nationally recognized initiative organized by Keep America Beautiful and dedicated to encouraging people to recycle more at home, at work and on the go.
Local residents can join in ARD by recycling gently used clothing, furniture, books and household items. St. Vincent de Paul recycles more than five million pounds of materials annually to help the environment. Proceeds from thrift store sales help neighbors in need, providing funds to prevent eviction, hunger, utility shut-off and more.
