The Inglemoor High class of 1968 will celebrate its 40th-year reunion Aug. 22-24 with a bevy of activities at a variety of venues, including a tour of the Kenmore campus conducted by Principal Vicki Sherwood.
The class of ‘68 — the first class to attend all three years of high school at Inglemoor — will gather first for an informal celebration at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at the grads’ old haunt, Dick’s Drive-In in Lake City.
Aug. 23 will feature a day at the horse races followed by an evening of fine dining and fellowship at Emerald Downs in Auburn. Tickets for the all-day event are $65/person if purchased prior to July 7, $75 thereafter. Included in the price is a full day of racing entertainment, a no-host cocktail hour and a gourmet double-entrée buffet dinner.
Sunday’s events will include the school tour. Designed and built in the 1960s to serve up to 750 students, the campus now holds more than 1,500 and has seen many changes over the decades. The tour will begin at 12:30 p.m. from the school’s lower parking lot.
Following the tour, grads will gather at 2 p.m. at the city of Kenmore’s Rhododendron Park for an old-fashioned, bring-your-own-basket family picnic.
