Outlook: Talented group with six players qualifying for districts and all six having a shot at state. Team has shown improvement, too, going from a 20-stroke loss to Friday Harbor to a 1-stroke victory later in the season. Team has goal of shooting 160 for top four scorers in one tournament (average 40 for nine holes). Already has scored 170.

Top golfers

• Jr. Jeff Doherty: Team’s only returning state participant last year has a chance to place this year.

• Sr. Daniel Raschick: Three-sport star (football, basketball) is a co-captain and may be team’s most inspirational player. Shot 38 for nine holes recently.

• Sr. Riley Bettinger: Basketball star is a co-captain. Lefty has been close to qualifying for state since sophomore year and hopes this is finally the year.

• Sr. Blake Zapara: Shot 81 for 18 holes recently.

• Sr. Kenny King: Rounds out talented senior class.

• Fr. Grant Zapara: Blake’s younger brother has already become team’s third or fourth most consistent golfer.
