Bothell resident and Reporter columnist Suzanne Beyer will sign her new book, “The Inventor’s Fortune Up for Grabs: The Legacy of the Extension Bracelet,” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 11-14 at the Holiday Boutique Craft Show, being held at The Hollywood Schoolhouse, 14810 N.E. 145th St., Woodinville.

“The Inventor’s Fortune Up for Grabs” is a true story told through the perspective of John Pfarr, the attorney who initially felt the group had “not a snowball’s chance in hell” of winning their case, and that of Suzanne G. Beyer, an heir to her great uncle’s fortune.

Great Uncle Art Hadley amassed a fortune with his invention of the expansion bracelet in 1913. His bracelet became the forerunner of the popular expansion watchband, commonly worn today. Hadley passed his considerable wealth to his two children, Thomas and Sarah, through various trusts. Sarah’s death in 2002 triggered termination of their father’s trusts that originated more than 60 years ago. However, Hadley’s ambiguous estate planning documents now left “The Inventor’s Fortune Up for Grabs.”
