Former Kenmore fire chief Eaton to receive McMaster Award

Former Kenmore fire chief and current president of the Kenmore Community Club Les “Bud” Eaton has been selected this year’s recipient of the Kenmore Heritage Society McMaster Award, given to a “living person who has made a significant contribution to the Kenmore community.”

Eaton will be honored at the next meeting of the Heritage Society, set for 6:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at the Kenmore Community Club, 7304 N.E. 175th St.

The McMaster Award is named after John McMaster who gave Kenmore its name in 1901. This is the 10th McMaster award presented. Past winners have included former mayors, such as Dick Taylor in 2010 and Kenmore’s unofficial historian Priscilla Droge in 2008.

The event is free and open to the public.
