Jacob Carlson, a student at Inglemoor High School in Kenmore, served as a page this week in the Washington State House of Representatives. Sponsored by state Rep. Gerry Pollet (D-Seattle), Carlson is the son of Yunhee and Neal Carlson of Kenmore. Pollet serves Kenmore from the 46th District.
Pages perform a wide variety of responsibilities, from presenting the flags to distributing amendments on the House floor. In addition to contributing to the efficient operation of the Legislature, pages receive daily civics instruction, draft their own bills and participate in mock committee hearings.
Carlson is still deciding whether to pursue medical school or the Air Force Academy.
He enjoys playing football and rugby.
