The Bothell High School boys basketball team edged Post Falls High School of Idaho Friday 70-68 in overtime thanks to Josh Martin’s 32-point effort.
The Cougars opened the game with the hot hand, outscoring the Idaho team 24-16 during the first quarter. But Post Falls would cut that lead to just two points by halftime.
The team from Idaho maintained that momentum into the third quarter where it took its first lead of the game. A strong fourth quarter brought Bothell back and ultimately tied at 63-63 by the end of regulation.
Both teams clamped down during overtime but Bothell was able to squeak out a 7-5 advantage during the defensive struggle to win the game.
