Positions open for boards, commissions
Citizens are invited to apply for various board and commission positions. Applications will be accepted through Feb. 13.
The Bothell City Council is tentatively scheduled to interview applicants March 10. Final selections will be made by the City Council, except where otherwise noted, and are scheduled March 17 (subject to change). Appointments take effect April 1 unless otherwise noted. Applications are available at www.ci.bothell.wa.us, by calling the City Clerk Division at (425) 486-3256 or by visiting Bothell City Hall (18305 101st Ave. N.E).
Fourteen terms on six boards and commissions will be appointed for the
following:
• Landmark Preservation Board: Three positions, two five-year
terms, one partial term expires 2012.
• Library Board: Two positions, five-year terms.
• Lodging Tax Advisory Committee: Three positions, two-year terms.
*Special requirements apply; consult City Clerk Division.
• Parks & Recreation Board: One position, three-year term.
• Planning Commission: One position, four-year term.
• Shorelines Board: Four positions, three five-year terms, one
partial term expires 2010.
EIS public comment
The city of Bothell has extended its public-comment period for the Downtown Subarea Plan and Regulations Planned Action Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). Public comments are being accepted until 5 p.m. Jan. 30. Following the Draft EIS comment period, a final EIS will be prepared and will provide responses to comments received on the Draft EIS tentatively scheduled to be released in March (subject to change). The Draft EIS is available for review at www.ci.bothell.wa.us and click Downtown Revitalization. Hard copies are also available at the Dawson Building (9654 N.E. 182nd St.), Bothell City Hall (18305 101st Ave. N.E.) or at the Bothell Regional Library (18215 98th Ave. N.E.). Crossroads workshop
Bothell citizens are invited to participate in a workshop from 6-9 p.m. Jan. 29 at the City of Bothell Municipal Court, 10116 N.E. 183rd St., that will put the finishing touches on initial design work for the Bothell Crossroads SR 522 Realignment and SR 527 Multiway Boulevard projects. This interactive workshop will gather public input on, but not limited to:
• Street furnishings such as streetlights, benches and bike racks.
• Landscaping features such as trees, plantings, and rain gardens.
• Design elements such as sidewalks, pervious pavers, and roadway
improvements.
Project managers, urban and landscaping designers and city staff members will present the Bothell Crossroads and Multiway Boulevard design concepts, including a slide show, print displays and graphics.
