Saint Martin’s University softball player and Bothell High School graduate Lacey McGladrey added to her impressive list of awards today with the announcement of 2013 National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-American teams.
The junior second baseman was selected as a first team All-American. She is the first to do so in the program’s history.
She was also named Daktronics second team All-American as voted on by the sports information directors which was released today as well.
Earlier this month she earned both NFCA and Daktronics first team all-region honors while being selected as the 2013 GNAC Player of the Year. McGladrey was also named first team All-GNAC for a third-consecutive season as she helped the Saints to both the regular season and conference tournament titles.
McGladrey appeared in all 57 games for the Saints this season as the team’s primary second baseman and leadoff batter. She hit .397, second best in the GNAC this season, leading the conference in runs scored (65), doubles (17), total bases (120) and on-base percentage (.459).
From the leadoff spot, McGladrey added power and speed. She ranked second in the GNAC with 77 hits, 18 stolen bases and third with eight home runs, 22 walks and a .619 slugging percentage. McGladrey also ranked seventh wtih 33 RBI while recording 22 multi-hit games during the season.
McGladrey is just the third NFCA first team All-American in GNAC history and the first since 2010.
