The three state legislators from the 1st District, Sen. Rosemary McAuliffe and Reps. Luis Moscoso and Derek Stanford, will host a town hall meeting from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on March 14 at the Northshore Senior Center in the Wellness Center.
The 1st District straddles both King and Snohomish County. The district is home to Bothell, Mountlake Terrace, Brier, a large part of rural Snohomish County, and parts of Kirkland and Lynnwood.
“Constituent engagement and participation is the most important part of the legislative process,” McAuliffe said. “I look forward to hearing my neighbors’ active voice about the issues that matter most to them.”
“As we enter into the second half of the legislative session, we look forward to the opportunity to hear from our constituents about the issues that are important to them,” Moscoso said.
“House of origin cutoff on Wednesday marks the halfway point in this year’s legislative session,” Stanford said. “It gives us a great opportunity to step back, evaluate the work we’ve done so far and determine our priorities for the second half of this important session. I hope our constituents come to the town hall to share their thoughts, concerns and ideas with us — without their feedback, our jobs are impossible.”
Legislative town halls are typically held during or soon after the legislative session and provide lawmakers and constituents the opportunity to speak in person about issues important to the district.
McAuliffe, Moscoso and Stanford will provide an overview of the status of important bills that have been introduced during the 2015 legislative session as well as what’s happening with the capital and transportation budgets, and what still needs to be done.
The Northshore Senior Center is located at 10212 East Riverside Drive in Bothell.
