Tucker Cholvin, Bothell High senior and Washington State YMCA Youth Governor, will join Gov. Christine Gregoire in hosting the Governor’s Breakfast and Proclamation signing for the YMCA’s Advocacy Day in Olympia on Feb. 9. In addition to signing the proclamation, there will be remarks by Gov. Gregoire, Washington State Elections co-director Katie Blinn and Cholvin. The advocacy day provides an opportunity for individuals to talk with elected representatives about issues that impact the YMCA.

Cholvin was elected youth governor by his peers in the YMCA’s Youth and Government Program. The program gives high-school students the opportunity to experience the legislative process first hand. Students learn about state government by becoming mock senators, representatives, lobbyists and reporters.
