Canyon Park EvergreenHealth Primary Care, in Bothell, has a new physician: Ingrid Van Swearingen.

Dr. Van Swearingen specializes in family and preventive medicine, general pediatrics, geriatrics, mental health and women’s health, including family planning, contraception and preconception counseling.

As a physician who cares for individuals and families throughout all stages of life, Dr. Van Swearingen states she partners with her patients to understand their needs within the larger context of their overall health. She knows that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to care, and takes time to listen to in order to provide individualized treatments for patients.

“Dr. Van Swearingen is a true ally to her patients, dedicated to providing collaborative care,” Aileen Mickey, chief medical officer of EvergreenHealth Medical Group, stated in a press release. “Her genuine passion for family medicine helps to foster meaningful and long-lasting relationships with patients and families.”

Dr. Van Swearingen’s approach centers on the importance of preventive care at every life stage, according to EvergreenHealth. By working with patients to understand their health goals, she is able to craft care plans that align with their needs and values from a holistic approach.

Certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, Dr. Van Swearingen attended the University of Washington School of Medicine and completed her residency in family medicine at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine. She also completed an internship in general surgery at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Van Swearingen is a native of the Seattle area and states she’s thrilled to return to the area to be close to family. When she isn’t with patients, Dr. Van Swearingen enjoys baking, skiing, paddle boarding and spending quality time with family.
