The North Creek Jaguars (6-2) advanced to the 4A playoffs for the first time in program history with a 42-25 victory over the Issaquah Eagles on Nov. 2. North Creek running back Izayah Boss ran for two touchdowns and quarterback Jack Charlton threw for one touchdown and ran for two more in the victory.
The Jaguars opened the scoring with a 4-yard touchdown run from Boss late in the first quarter to give them a 7-0 advantage. North Creek doubled its lead midway through the second quarter when Charlton threw a 71-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Srijan Bogati. After the Eagles added a touchdown of their own, the Jaguars took a 14-7 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, Charlton ran for a 3-yard touchdown and Issaquah added a 25-yard field goal to make it a 21-17 game going into the fourth quarter.
The Jaguars exploded in the final frame, scoring three touchdowns, a 2-yard run from Charlton, a 42-yard run from Boss and an 8-yard run from fullback Jody Notoa. Issaquah running back Isaac Pak scored the Eagles’ only touchdown in the second half.
The 42-25 victory means the Jaguars will face the Kennedy Catholic Lancers (8-0) at 7 p.m. on Nov. 9 at Renton Memorial Stadium.
