The Northshore Schools Foundation has announced that Jim Dever, reporter for King 5 “Evening Magazine,” will be the keynote speaker at the eighth annual “Light a Fire for Learning” luncheon to be held on from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. April 26 at the Lynnwood Convention Center.
Dever, winner of 15 Emmy Awards for writing, hosting, reporting and producing, will tell his personal stories and experiences and the lessons he has learned along the way.
Joining Dever will be emcee Andy Wappler of Puget Sound Energy and Dale Amundsen of Evergreen Washelli at Bothell and boardmember of the Greater Bothell Chamber of Commerce.
The goal of the luncheon will be to raise more than $100,000 to fund the foundation’s new funding initiatives. These include supporting teacher excellence; STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education; support for advanced and disadvantaged learners; fitness, health, music and enhancement; and literacy support in all 31 Northshore schools. Proceeds from the luncheon benefit all students in the Northshore School District.
Seating at this event is limited; reserve your seat by contacting the foundation at (425) 408-7680.
The mission of the Northshore Schools Foundation is to support programs and partnerships that enhance learning opportunities for all Northshore students.
