Tenant escapes through window after hearing ‘slide of a handgun’ | Police Blotter

Feb. 12

Vehicle prowl: At 7:53 a.m. in the 18300 block of Bothell Way Northeast, a victim reported someone broke into their car overnight. He last saw his vehicle while it was in a parking garage. And upon his return, he discovered the car had been rummaged through. Caller believes his car was locked overnight, but unlocked when he discovered it in the morning. His tire chains, valued at $70, were missing.

Feb. 13

Hit-and-run: At 2:44 p.m. in the 18000 block of Bothell Way Northeast, officers responded to an investigation of a hit-and-run on an unattended vehicle. The car was parked in the lot between a QFC and tanning salon. The victim did not see who caused the damage — a round hole, the size of a trailer ball hitch, in the front driver’s side bumper and an eight inch crack on the fender. The estimated cost of repair is $1,000.

Feb. 14

‘The slide of a handgun’: At 7:13 a.m. in the 12800 block of Northeast 197th Place, a tenant was having issues with his roommate, the homeowner he was renting the room from. The owner had been yelling around the house that morning while the tenant was in his bedroom. The caller thought he heard the “slide of a handgun” and soon after left the residence by climbing out his bedroom window and waiting for officers down the street. Officers arrived and the tenant was able to remove all of his property from the residence. The homeowner denied yelling and claimed to be playing with his dog.

Feb. 15

Redfin showcase: At 9:58 a.m. in the 22800 block of Meridian Avenue South, a caller reported that someone stole her 24-inch fiberglass ladder from her yard. She believes she knows who stole it because a neighbor had recently sold their home and she was able to review the property photos on Redfin.com. Those photos, the caller said, showcased several places where the ladder may have been stored. There was no follow-up to the case.

Feb. 16

Bad time to fall asleep: At 12:54 a.m. in the 10300 block of Woodinville Drive, an officer stopped a driver allegedly speeding and for lane travel. The driver passed out while going through the DUI process with police. He was transported to Evergreen Hospital for evaluation, a blood warrant obtained. He was booked into King County Jail with a medical clearance.

Drunchies: At 1:19 a.m. in the 22800 block of Bothell-Everett Highway, officers responded to a welfare check at a 7-Eleven convenience store. The clerk called the police department and reported an intoxicated female was passed out in her car in the front of the business. The suspect was placed under arrest for drug loitering.
