Inglemoor’s boys basketball squad continues to roll with a 6-1 record to lead the 4A KingCo Crown Division after beating Newport, 84-52, on Tuesday. The Viks are 12-1 overall.
Brady Casto led the way against Newport with 24 points (including three 3-pointers) and six rebounds, followed by Peter Hansen with 16 points and seven rebounds and Zach Shimek and Tim Donahue with 12 points each (Donahue nailed four treys).
“The team has really good chemistry and we have been playing with great focus, with a lot of hard workers and unselfish players. They are valuing both ends of the floor — defense and offense,” said head coach Greg Lowell.
Other standouts have been Calvin McDaniel, Aiden Bennett, Blaine McGoorty, Dawson Tucker, Adil Lalji and Logan Russell.
Also on Tuesday, Mount Si beat Bothell, 69-34, and the Cougars now stand 4-3 in league and 8-6 overall. Issaquah defeated North Creek, 73-63, and the Jaguars are now 2-5 in league and 4-9 overall.
On the girls’ side in the Crown, Inglemoor is 4-2 and 11-2 overall, North Creek is 3-3 and 7-5 overall and Bothell is 0-6 and 1-11 overall.
Tonight, Mount Si will host Bothell at 7:15 p.m., Inglemoor will host Newport at 7:15 p.m. and Issaquah will host North Creek at 7:15 p.m.
In girls’ action on Friday, North Creek will host Inglemoor at 6:30 p.m., and on Saturday, Bothell will host Redmond at 6:30 p.m., Woodinville will host North Creek at 6:30 p.m. and Mount Si will host Inglemoor at 6:30 p.m.
In boys’ action on Friday, North Creek will host Inglemoor at 8 p.m., and on Saturday, Bothell will host Redmond at 8 p.m., Woodinville will host North Creek at 8 p.m. and Mount Si will host Inglemoor at 8 p.m.
For Cedar Park Christian, the girls are 2-1 in 1A North Sound play and 5-5 overall and will host South Whidbey at 5:15 p.m. Friday. They will also host Friday Harbor at 1 p.m. Saturday.
The Eagle boys are 1-2 in league and 5-8 overall and will play at South Whidbey at 6:45 p.m. Friday.
