The public is invited to enjoy the latest exhibition at the Bothell City Hall Gallery.

The exhibit features Eric Demattos’ photographs titled, “Forgotten Spaces,” based on desolate objects long forgotten by others.

Demattos’ work will be on display through Jan. 25. The City Hall Gallery, at 18415 101st Ave NE, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

On his Facebook page, Demattos wrote that he is excited to be hosted by the city of Bothell.

“I will be hanging 12 of my pieces there, some photos printed on aluminum and some printed on canvas,” he wrote. “I hope that a few of you are in that area and are able to swing by and see some of the work in person!’

The City Hall gallery is an open space in the main lobby and hallway leading to City Council Chambers. Exhibits are curated by the city’s Arts Commission.

Last year, the Bothell City Council made a more formal commitment to the arts by establishing the commission, joining 23 other cities in King County that recruit citizen volunteers to advise on arts programs. Now the commission has brought the art inside City Hall, where it is curating a rotating gallery of 2-D, 3-D and media art on the first floor.

In 2018, the gallery featured digital illustrations by Bothell resident Dennis Wunsch, acrylic on canvas art by Jeff Olson and watercolor and ink by Megan Eckman. The commission will review submissions for the 2019 exhibits soon.
