The city of Bothell invited the public to a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of two projects on Beardslee Boulevard on Oct. 4.
The city repaved and rebuilt this important roadway in the downtown corridor and improved safety by installing flashing crosswalk lights at at Beardslee Boulevard and Northeast 185th Street.
This project was funded in part by the Safe Streets and Sidewalks Levy approved by voters in November of 2016, and funding was provided by the University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia College for the design and construction. The crosswalk light was funded by UWB/Cascadia and Washington State Transportation Improvement Board’s Complete Street Program.
The Bothell City Council approved a construction contract with Watson Asphalt Paving Co., Inc., to pave and rebuild sections of Beardslee Boulevard in June for about $1.1 million. The road had been closed to all westbound traffic from Northeast 185th Street to 110th Avenue Northeast since mid-June.
