The North Urban Human Services Alliance, along with representatives from the Rotary Club of Lake Forest Park, King County Library System, the cities of Shoreline and Lake Forest Park, Ronald United Methodist Church, Hopelink, Center for Human Services, Outreach for Lake City Partners Ending Homelessness and Compass Housing Alliance, will present a homelessness in the community free three-part series.
The series will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. Oct. 2, Oct. 30 and Dec. 11 at Kenmore City Hall, and from 6:30-8 p.m. Oct. 16 and Nov. 20 at Ronald United Methodist Church in Shoreline. Reservations are appreciated but not required: staff@NUHSA.org.
The series is for residents who notice increased numbers of homelessness in their neighborhood, business owners who are unsure of how to respond, people who have experienced living without a home and people who are working to respond to those living homeless. Topics will be: adverse experiences and resiliency — why some struggle and others don’t; and dangerous versus difficult — useful tools for responding with compassion and concern.
