Thomas Monahan, a student at Bothell High School, served as a page this week in the Washington State House of Representatives.

Sponsored by State Rep. Shelley Kloba (D-Kirkland), Thomas is the son of Paul Monahan and Cathleen Monahan of Bothell. Pages perform a wide variety of responsibilities, from presenting the flags to distributing amendments on the House floor.

In addition to contributing to the efficient operation of the Legislature, pages receive daily civics instruction, draft their own bills, and participate in mock committee hearings. Thomas has always had a great interest in government and politics.

As an Eagle Scout and honor’s student, Thomas knows that his selection and participation as a legislative page is an honor and a privilege. He is proud to have had the opportunity to serve as a page, this legislative session.
