The Arts of Kenmore Gallery invites the public to the opening reception of the Hispanic Arte & Culture Exhibit from 6:30-8 p.m. on March 2 at Kenmore City Hall, 18120 68th Ave. N.E.

The juried exhibition features culturally interpretative works by 10 local artists of Hispanic/Latino heritage and were curated to enrich and engage Kenmore’s growing community. A presentation accompanied by artist awards will begin at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The exhibit will be open to the public during City Hall business hours, weekdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., through May 24.

The juried competition attracted artists from around the greater Seattle area to exhibit in a cultural context. Featured artists include Rene Julio Díaz, William Garza, Rodolfo Garza, Laura Grover, Hugo Moro, Sylvia Kurin, Beth McBeth Perez, Ruben Rodriguez-Joya, Diana Scheel and Angie Hinojos Yusef.

Jurors for this exhibit were Alfredo Arreguin and Seattle Arts Commissioner Juan Alonso-Rodríguez.

Arts of Kenmore is collaborating with 4Culture, BizDiversity, El Siete Dias and the City of Kenmore to host a series of events celebrating culture:

On April 14, the Cultural Community Mixer from 5-8:30 p.m. at Kenmore City Hall will provide an opportunity for Northshore businesses, vendors and nonprofits to network and gain cultural awareness. Activities include community building, art activities for kids, entertainment and food.

On May 5, the Cinco de Mayo celebration from 3-8 p.m. at the Hangar and Town Square, 6728 N.E. 181st St., will include salsa dancing, art activities for kids, food trucks, a historical presentation and DJ entertainment.
