The board of directors and staff of the Northshore Youth Soccer Association (NYSA), along with their teammates and coaches, extend their best wishes to this year’s scholarship winners as they begin their fall classes.
Scholarships for the upcoming 2017-18 academic year were awarded to four students from Bothell and its surrounding communities.
Two Bothell High School graduates received awards. Marissa Rowley, attending University of Portland, in the Secondary Education program, received a $1,000 award and Bethany Vandiwort, attending Grand Canyon University, studying sports medicine, received a $500 award.
All graduating seniors who planned to enter an accredited institution this fall were eligible to apply. Students were selected based on their involvement in the community and their commitment to NYSA programs including coaching and referee positions.
NYSA awards scholarships annually. Since its founding, the organization has grown to include several programs for different skill levels, representing thousands of youth athletes ages six to 19.
