The Cedar Park Christian baseball team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Archbishop Murphy 11-6 on Thursday at Archbishop Murphy High School.
Scoring 10 runs over the course of the fourth, fifth and sixth innings, the Wildcats (10-3, 8-1 in Cascade) overcame a 4-1 deficit to pull ahead and end the Eagles’ (12-1, 9-1) 12-game winning streak.
Collin Montez picked up the win from the mound for Archbishop Murphy. He also went 2-for-3 at the plate, swinging for a double and scored three runs. Teammate Dirk Wilson batted 1-for-3, swinging for a three-run home run.
For the Eagles, Luke Lampe went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI. George Reidy went 1-for-4 with a solo home run.
Next, Cedar Park Christian will take on Cedarcrest (4-8, 2-5) at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Cedarcrest High School.
