Mackenzie DeKay didn’t allow a single run and just one hit during a complete-game win on Thursday, as the Inglemoor High School softball team defeated Eastlake, 6-0, in Kenmore.
The Vikings (2-0, 3-1) secured the victory thanks to four runs during the fourth inning. Inglemoor’s big inning began with a lead off single by DeKay and was driven on a double by Taylor Waara, followed with singles by Riley Garcia, Kendal Levy and Rachel Brown.
DeKay earned the win for Inglemoor, as she pitched seven innings, striking out ten and walking one. Ashlyn Roberts took the loss for Eastlake. She threw six innings, allowing six runs, ten hits, and striking out six.
Hannah Shimek went 1-for-4 at the plate as she led the Vikings with two runs batted in on a hard single during the 6th inning.
Inglemoor will face Glacier Peak today at 6 p.m. at home.
