Bothell student wins national elementary chess competition

Anirudh Rajesh, a second grader from Shelton View Elementary, took home the first place trophy at the United States Chess Federation National Elementary Championship on May 9-11 in Dallas, Texas.

Anirudh Rajesh, a second grader from Shelton View Elementary, took home the first place trophy at the United States Chess Federation National Elementary Championship on May 9-11 in Dallas, Texas. He played through seven rounds against 317 other competitors in his division and had a perfect 7.0 score along with another individual. Rajesh, however, ended up receiving the tie-break nod and the championship win.
