Following the attack in Dallas last week, which left five police officers dead, local officers are reflecting on the incident and the dangers of their profession.
Bothell Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Ken Seuberlich said the Bothell community is supportive of officers.
“We here in Bothell regularly receive a lot of support from the community,” he said. “I think we’re pretty fortunate in that I believe we have a really good relationship with our community.”
While the Seattle Police Department will be doubling up on patrol shifts, Seuberlich said there are no plans to alter the way Bothell police perform their work.
And while the mood is somewhat sad at the department, Seuberlich said officers are no stranger to the dangers of the job.
“I think every officer is reflecting on the incident and you can’t help but think about it,” he said. “We have a job to do, we know that, we knew that when we signed up and I think every one of us here loves serving. We love serving the community and we love helping people.”
