The following is a release from United Way:
United Way of Snohomish County is getting volunteers connected with community needs easier than ever before. On April 11, a new web page will be launched in hopes of increasing the opportunities for community members to get involved with local nonprofits. The online system, which is administrated by United Way of Snohomish County, is called “Get Connected.”
“I am tremendously excited to launch Get Connected here in Snohomish County,” said Jessica Gaitan, Volunteer Engagement Manager at United Way of Snohomish County. “I am hopeful that people will find it easier to get connected with the different non-profits we have throughout our community.”
Get Connected will do more than just create matches among the service community and private citizens; it will also help to build lasting relationships.
Some opportunities currently listed on Get Connected include volunteering for the Mill Creek Mobile Food Bank on April 14, Everett Food Bank on April 16, and the Letter Carrier’s Food Drive on May 14. Users can go to getconnected.uwsc.org to respond to these needs.
“It is especially exciting that we are launching this right before National Volunteer Week April 11th – 16th,” Gaitan said. “We are hoping to see an increase of volunteers during the week because ‘Get Connected’ matches you with volunteer opportunities that match your interests.”
