Gabrielle Dang had a stellar meet at the KingCo Swimming championships on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Kamiak High School in Mukilteo.
Dang, a sophomore, swam state-qualifying times in four events: the 100-yard butterfly, the 100-yard backstroke and as a member of the 200-yard medley and freestyle relay teams.
Dang achieved All-American consideration for her time of 54.8 seconds in the 100 butterfly, in which she won a district title. Dang also won the backstroke in 56.41 seconds.
Danielle Doennebrick, Alexandra Macdonald and Elizaveta Panova also swam the 200 medley relay, and finished second, qualifying for the state meet.
Panova swam a district-qualifying time in the 50 freestyle for fifth place overall. Lynn Chou and Kathleen Kirk also qualified for the district meet in the 50 freestyle.
Doennebrick and Macdonald qualified for the district meet in the 100 butterfly, and Chou and Madison Chow qualified in the 100 freestyle.
Panova and Chou qualified in the 100 backstroke.
Bothell had a handful of standouts as well. Freshman Jazlyn Pak finished second overall in the 100 freestyle in 53.86, an automatic qualifying time for the state meet. Pak finished sixth in the 100 backstroke, qualifying for the district meet.
The Bothell 200 medley relay team qualified for the district meet, as did the 400 freestyle relay team.
Amalie Ratliff qualified for the district meet in the 200 freestyle and the 100 butterfly.
Bothell divers Hannah Shull, Erin Clayton, Siayann Reyes, and Noe Calimin finished in the top-15 in the one-meter dive, qualifying for districts.
As a team, Inglemoor finished ninth overall with 207 points. Bothell finished 12th with 183 points, and Skyline won the meet with 529.5 points.
