The Arts of Kenmore is having an opening reception for their new gallery from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 19.
The Art of Textiles showcases a wide range of subject matter celebrating styles from Americana quilting to abstract felting applications. Traditionally, textile art is founded in fibers such as yarn or silk, cultural patterning such as Celtic or Hardanger, and handcrafted techniques like crochet and needlepoint have been handed down from generation to generation.
The event will feature works by Staci Adman, Ti Locke, Holly Forbis, Lois Gaylord, Meg Gray, Laura Grover, Gay Jensen, Liz Moncrief, Donna Prichard, Julia Rapinoe, Lynne Rigby, Pam Seaberg, Carol Tanner, Cyndi Wolfe and Judith Warren.
A Presentation will be given by Staci Adman on her approach to merging art and science with a variety of materials.
Light refreshments will be served.
