The Bothell High School softball team defeated Newport 6-5 during a 4A KingCo playoff game Monday night at Inglemoor High School.

Newport began the game with two runs in the first but Bothell stormed back to score five unanswered runs.

The Cougars would push one more across the plate during the sixth inning to preserve the lead and the victory.

Bothell was led by Arista Honey and Kelsie Morgan, who went a combined 4-for-8 with two doubles. Julia Warner picked up the win from the pitching circle.
