Cascadia Community College will present “From Bothell to Ethiopia: Making a Difference One Student at a Time” from 7-8 p.m. Nov. 15 in Mobius Hall.
Cascadia students spearheaded a successful book drive earlier this year for rural schools in Ethiopia, and that effort will be featured in a short film that will premiere at the event.
In addition, there will be a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony, several dance performances by Ethiopian dancers and a panel discussion by students about the benefits, opportunities and challenges involved in community and global engagement.
“The event is part cultural and part inspirational, focusing on how individuals can engage in their local and/or global communities to make a difference,” according to Meagan Walker, director of college relations.
