Seattle Police said that a male body was found Thursday afternoon at Carkeek Park in Seattle, and the King County Medical Examiner’s office today said it is that of Jeff Johnson of Bothell.

According to Det. Jeff Kappel, also a department spokesman, a search party looking for Johnson was out at the park Thursday afternoon when the body was located.

The Medical Examiner’s Office noted on its media line that the cause of death is suicide — asphyxia from hanging.

According to Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives in an earlier KOMO TV report, the 59-year-old hadn’t been seen or heard from since last Friday morning when he reportedly left home to drive to his job in Seattle at PCC Market in Fremont. Johnson’s wife reported him missing later that morning after he failed to make it to work; she couldn’t contact him since he left his cell phone at home. His white Dodge Dakota pickup truck was found Sunday at Carkeek Park, according to detectives in the report.
