Bothell residents are invited to share their thoughts and ideas about the new city hall at a series of three community workshops starting March 23. Bothell residents are invited to share their thoughts and ideas about the new city hall at a series of three community workshops starting March 23.  Last month, the city announced that a development team led by Vulcan Real Estate has been selected for its new city center campus, a signature project in Bothell’s ambitious vision for its downtown revitalization.

The city center block (101st Avenue Northeast), which will be anchored by the new city hall, will be designed over the coming months building on several years of public input and planning. With construction possibly starting as early as the end of 2011, it is important for Bothell citizens to participate now in the design process.

In the first workshop in the “It’s Your City Hall!” series, citizens will help develop “guiding principles,” which will drive the design of the project. As the design takes shape, future workshops will look at the master plan for the site, as well as art and architecture. It will take place from 6-7:30 p.m. March 23 at Bothell Municipal Court, 10116 N.E. 183rd St.

Future dates: April 27 and May 25 — same time and location.

The community workshops are open to all Bothell residents and are family-friendly. Bothell citizens are also welcome to attend and speak at Bothell City Council meetings. The council is scheduled to discuss the city center project at 6 p.m. on April 12, May 10, June 14 and at meetings in July.
