Bothell, Inglemoor teams place in top 20 at state, Mills and Rhoads earn titles | Prep track and field

Kenmore and Bothell were well represented at the high school 4A State Track and Field Championships May 28-30 at Mount Tahoma Stadium in Tacoma, including one state champion.

The Inglemoor High School boys team finished fifth overall, while the Bothell High School boys team was eighth. The Viking girls placed 11th overall, while the Cougars were 17th.

 

Boys results

Inglemoor junior Micheal Rhoads won the state title in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.44 seconds.

Bothell senior Ryan Croson finished just behind Rhoads, taking second in the 400-meter dash in a time of 49.03 seconds. He also finished eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.61 seconds.

Viking Michael Milcarek finished second in state during the discus with a distance of 162-feet, 1-inch and was sixth in the shot put (52-feet, .5-inches)

The Bothell High School 400-meter relay team of Matt Moran, Ryan Knight, Kevin Liu and Ryan Croson took third in state with a time of 42.39 and the 1,600-meter relay team of Judd Bobin, Ethan Karlinsey, Ryan Larson and Andrew Seckinger took fourth for Inglemoor (3:22.43).

Viking junior Nick Laccinole finished fourth in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 9:12.93, while Charlie Barringer of Bothell finished sixth in the 3,200-meter run (9:17.33) and then finished 12th in the 1,600-meter run (4:24.68).

Bothell senior Dayzell Wilson finished fifth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 39.84 seconds.

Cougar senior Kenyon Angeletti finished sixth in the long jump (21-feet, 9-inches), while teammate Ryan Knight was 14th overall (19-feet, 6.5-inches).

Inglemoor senior Ben Walchenback finished sixth in the triple jump (44-feet, 2,25-inches) and Cougar Keelan Halligan finished 12th in the high jump by clearing six feet.

Cole Jones of Bothell finished 12th in the javelin (163-feet, 8-inches).

 

Girls results

Viking senior Darhian Mills had a great meet, winning the state title in the 300-meter hurdles. Her official time of 42.13 tied the state record set back in 2009. She also finished second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.13.

Cougar Sarah Stavig had a big day, finishing third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.28 seconds, fifth in the 200-meter dash (25.48 seconds)

Viking Anna Richards performed well, placing fourth in the triple jump (38-feet, 3.75-inches) and 10th in the long jump (16-feet, 7-inches).

Rebecca Peoples of Bothell High School tied for fifth in the pole vault with a height of 11 feet, while teammate junior Sophie Bowles finished sixth in the 400-meter run with a time of 57.79 seconds.

Ruby Charney of Inglemoor finished ninth in the shot put (38-feet, 1.5-inches) and then 12th in the discus (103-feet, 4-inches).
