Wine Walk, a benefit for the Northshore Performing Arts Center, will feature Ancient Sounds

Ancient Sounds, a group of musicians that play ancient woodwind instruments interwoven with modern-world instruments, percussion and vocals, will perform from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Woodinville Warehouse Wineries Wine Walk — a benefit for the Northshore Performing Arts Center — at Bothell’s Country Village (23718 Bothell Everett Highway). The event will feature more than 20 select wineries. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the Woodinville Warehouse Wineries Web site

Electric six-string violinist Geoffrey Castle brings the violin back to center stage with virtuoso showmanship and a 21st-century attitude.

• Marcia Ball and the Voice of the Wetlands All-Stars, featuring Tab Benoit, Cyril Neville, Anders Osborne, Johnny Sansone, Waylon Thibodeaux and Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Feb. 19, 7:30 p.m.

Over the course of her three-decade-plus career, Marcia Ball has developed a large fan base with her blend of swampy rhythm and blues, high-energy blues and heart-wrenching ballads. In collaboration with the Voice of the Wetlands All-Stars, she promises an entertaining evening of music with a message from the Gulf Coast.

The Voice of the Wetlands All-Stars were founded in 2005 when some of Louisiana’s most prominent musicians got together and produced a benefit CD for the Voice of the Wetlands nonprofit organization.

• “Late Nite Catechism,” March 19, 7:30 p.m.

“Late Nite Catechism” is a funny play that takes the audience back to their youth. The irrepressible Sister teaches class to a roomful of “students.” Throughout the course of the class the benevolent instructor rewards the “students” for correct answers with glow-in-the-dark rosaries and other nifty prizes.
