In its opening game of the season, 1A Cedar Park Christian defeated host 3A Ingraham High, 45-6, on Friday night.
Highlights included running back Zach Dinsmore scoring two touchdowns and carrying the ball 19 times for 165 yards; running back Daniel Watts hauling in a 35-yard TD pass and notching 111 yards on 15 carries; quarterback Justin Girgus’ 15-20-234 throwing night and returning a fumble for a score on defense.
The Eagles’ defense held Ingraham to a total of 158 yards, sacked Ingraham’s quarterbacks four times and forced six turnovers, including five interceptions. Dinsmore had three of those, returning the last one for 99 yards and the game-ending touchdown. Cornerbacks Cody Cole and Jake Kragerud each had one interception.
Linebacker Casey Ronnasi led the defense with eight tackles, and defensive end Austin Donnel had seven tackles to go with his two sacks.
