The University of Washington Bothell School of Business is taking the concept of a Mini-MBA global. The Global Executive Mini-MBA Series provides the unique opportunity for participants to travel to countries that are quickly becoming leaders in the world economy. There, they will engage in ten days of programming, including tours of top performing corporations and lectures and discussions with local experts and government officials.
School of Business Director Sandeep Krishnamurthy will lead the first Mini-MBA tour in September 2013 to some of India’s most important business destinations, including Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi. Krishnamurthy says this series is for executives who recognize the global power shift and want to be successful in the global marketplace where increasing supply and demand opportunities are available to American companies.
“The Global Executive Mini-MBA series is quite unique in that it focuses purely on helping business executives better understand and respond strategically to huge and growing markets such as India, China, Thailand and Korea,” Krishnamurthy said. “The participants will walk away with a solid understanding of successful business strategies for each of these countries, as well as numerous trade and business contacts in each country. Finally, they will receive a Global Executive Mini-MBA from the UW Bothell School of Business.”
The tours are designed to create engaging experiences for participants that are a unique blend of business, legal, trading and cultural issues.
Angela Dunham is a 2004 graduate from the UW Bothell Business Administration program who currently holds a global marketing position at a major corporation. She says she is considering UW Bothell’s Global Executive Mini-MBA Series because it offers a unique experience.
“The ability to get on-site experience and meet local business leaders is extremely valuable. The addition of being led by experienced global business professionals adds another element of value,” Dunham said. “I’ve looked at a number of other Mini-MBA programs around the country and did not see a “Global” travel component.”
She said the program could benefit her in her current and future positions, “This Mini-MBA would provide a good framework for how to work with colleagues and customers in other markets. The experience would enhance my strategic thinking and position me for broader international roles now and throughout my career.”
UW Bothell’s Global Executive Mini-MBA program is also flexible. Program organizers can provide customized in-house corporate tours based on a company’s specific interests, markets, and business focus.
The Global Executive Mini-MBA is a non-degree program of the UW Bothell School of Business. Participation in the program does not lead to any academic credit, nor does it guarantee admission to the University of Washington Bothell.
