Snohomish County Executive John Lovick, County Council and Parks Advisory Board members, as well as Mill Creek officials will officially open Tambark Creek Park today at 4 p.m. The park is located at 17217 35th Ave. S.E. Bothell.

Dedication of the off-leash dog area will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow with the playground opening at 10 a.m. Athletic organizations will demonstrate playing on the lit, multi-use synthetic athletic field from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  I f your organization would like to use the athletic field for a free one hour demo tomorrow, please call Tambark Creek Park is a 40-acre property southeast of the Mill Creek at 35th Ave. Southeast, north of 180th Street Southeast. The property was originally purchased in 1996 by Snohomish County and the city of Mill Creek.

Following numerous community meetings and surveys, the county built a synthetic lit athletic field with baseball/softball overlay on soccer/lacrosse field lines, an off-leash dog area, restroom buildings with a stand-alone picnic shelter, a playground, an unpaved walking trail and two paved parking lots serving the western and eastern sides of the park.
