The Bothell High School boys basketball team overcame a slow start Saturday night to advance during the Bothell Holiday Tournament, beating Edmonds-Woodway 68-50.

The Bothell High School boys basketball team overcame a slow start Saturday night to advance during the Bothell Holiday Tournament, beating Edmonds-Woodway 68-50.

The Cougars fell behind early, 20-8, during the first quarter but put their offense together during the second period. Bothell road a 28-point second quarter to take a five-point lead into halftime.

Both teams struggled on offense coming out of the locker room, combining for 18 points during the third period. But the Cougars would double up their opponents, 22-11, to finish off Edmonds-Woodway.

Bothell was led in scoring by Josh Martin (24), Hunter Dean with a season high 17 points and Josh Kollman’s 12 points.

The Cougars advance to play West Seattle High School at 8:30 p.m. on Monday at Bothell High School.
